A loop at two thousand metres devoted to Toni the eagle, with eleven play stations: a nest to climb into, a Kneipp water trail, slides and bridges. Very easy, pushchair-friendly.

Toni's Magic World is a high-altitude loop on the Corno del Renon devoted to Toni the eagle. It is built for families, but the setting — two thousand metres, open meadows and the Dolomites all around — makes it a fine walk for adults too.

Barely two and a half kilometres, a hundred metres of ascent, three quarters of an hour of walking without counting the stops. And there will be stops: there are eleven play stations along the way, and children do not skip them.

Highlights

The eleven stations

A large eagle's nest to climb into, water features with a Kneipp trail, a giant wooden eagle, slides, bridges and balance games. The installations are sturdy, built to survive a whole season of children.

The panorama at two thousand metres

The loop runs entirely above the treeline: the view of the Dolomites accompanies the whole route, with no enclosed stretches.

Getting there

The Corno del Renon gondola takes you to the Cima Lago Nero top station, at around 2,070 metres, where the loop begins and ends. If you are staying nearby, a car transfer from your hotel to the trailhead is included.

Good to know

The route is very easy and can be managed with a pushchair.

Three quarters of an hour is the walking time: with children and eleven stations, reckon on at least double.

There is a Kneipp trail with running water: a spare pair of socks is a good idea.

Routes may change according to trail and weather conditions.
